The Sellout — Paul Beatty

“The Sellout” is ostensibly about race; really, it is about relationships: relationships between fathers and sons, enduring love, extra-marital affairs, gangs and their leaders, community leaders hiding from their community behind facades, intellectuals and followers, “masters” and “slaves.” An engaging read; well-written, witty and full of interesting turns of phrase.
